Ava Smith hit two home runs and drove in four as Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets defeated Addison Varsity Panthers 21-0 on Thursday. Smith homered in the first and third innings.

Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets won thanks in part to 14 runs in the first inning.  Smith hit a solo inside the park home run, Amanda Ley tripled, scoring one run, Ryley Manning singled, scoring one run, McKinzie Fox singled, scoring two runs, Smith singled, scoring two runs, Brooklyn Biela singled, scoring one run, Halle Swihart singled, scoring one run, Ley doubled, scoring one run, Manning singled, scoring two runs, and Fox tripled, scoring two runs.

Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets scored six runs on five hits in the top of the second inning. Alexyn DuBois singled, scoring two runs, an error scored one run, Tori King doubled, scoring one run, and Maddy Sauber singled, scoring two runs.

Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets scored one run in the top of the third on an inside the park home run by Smith.

DuBois earned the win for Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets. The starting pitcher surrendered zero hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out seven and walking none. Olivia Speelman took the loss for Addison Varsity Panthers. The starter went three innings, allowing 21 runs (15 earned) on 22 hits, striking out two and walking none.

Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets tallied 22 hits in the game. Swihart and Smith each collected four hits for Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets. Alexyn DuBois drove in seven runs on four hits to lead Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets past Addison Varsity Panthers 23-1 on Thursday. DuBois tripled in the first scoring three, singled in the second scoring three, and doubled in the first scoring two.

Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets scored 12 runs in the second inning on the way to victory.  Ava Smith drew a walk, scoring one run, DuBois singled, scoring three runs, Amanda Ley homered to left field, scoring three runs, McKinzie Fox drew a walk, scoring one run, Smith doubled, scoring two runs, and Brooklyn Biela singled, scoring one run.

Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after DuBois doubled, scoring two runs, Halle Swihart grounded out, scoring one run, Maddy Sauber drew a walk, scoring one run, Smith singled, scoring two runs, DuBois tripled, scoring three runs, Swihart doubled, scoring one run, and Ley doubled, scoring one run.

Ley earned the win for Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets. The starter surrendered zero hits and one run (zero earned) over three innings, striking out five and walking none. Keira Wheaton took the loss for Addison Varsity Panthers. The starter went two innings, giving up 23 runs on 14 hits, striking out three and walking 10.

Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets amassed 14 hits in the game. Swihart, Smith, and Ley each collected multiple hits for Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets. Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets had a strong eye at the plate, tallying 10 walks for the game. Sauber, Ryley Manning, Smith, and Fox led the team with two bases on balls each. Smith stole two bases.
