The boys cross country team won the Cascades Conference Championship outright on Wednesday narrowly edging out a tough Jonesville squad for first place. The team showed its depth with outstanding races by the entire team. Way to make Comet Nation proud!
Varsity Volleyball Champions at Spring Arbor University!
The varsity volleyball team won the championship on Saturday afternoon at Spring Arbor University! The team stayed hot with a victory in the finals over Western 25-11 and 25-18. Way to go ladies!

Girls XC Finishes Second at Meckley's Invite
Maisey Toteff led the way with a 1st place finish in 20:42. She was followed by Brynlee Swihart, who placed 9th in 23:42, and Holly Zantop, who ran a solid 24:29. The Comet girls finished 2nd overall as a team.
Boys XC Team Wins Meckley's Invitational!
Chad Tyson set the tone with a new personal record of 16:23. Cooper Flick added a strong 17:06, while Wyatt Hassenzahl crossed in 17:56. The Comet boys earned 1st place as a team, capping off an excellent season opener.

Varsity Girls Continue Excellent Play with Win Over Jonesville
Hanover Horton 49, Jonesville 37: Molly Soper led the Comets with 20 points, and Maggie Soper added 17 points. HH is now 15-3 overall and has won 10 of their last 12 games. A huge rematch with Columbia Central next Tuesday at home (2/17), the Cascades-West champion will be decided. The JV also earned an exciting victory against Jonesville! --Coach Lusk

Last night the wrestling team hosted the MHSAA Team Districts with Addison, Concord, and Vandercook Lake. Your Comets wrestled Vandy first in the semifinals and won in dominating fashion, 72-0. Wins came from AJ Lusby, Nathan Willett, Garrett Frost, Bristen Cekander, AJ Fielder, Maelyn Frost, Levi Bradley, Britain Kabil, Travis Kruger, Nick Thomas, Austyn Hocter and Reed Matthews. Addison beat Concord 60-6 in their semifinal. In the District Finals, the Comets beat Addison 35-29. Winning their matches were AJ Lusby, AJ Fielder, Levi Bradley, Travis Kruger, Nick Thomas, Austyn Hocter and Reed Matthews. Your Comet wrestlers move onto the Regional next Wednesday. Opponents and location are not known yet. This weekend starts the individual postseason. Saturday, the boys travel to Lumen Christi, and the girls head to Clinton on Sunday for individual districts. Our 7th grade tallied another win with a victory over Napoleon at home. The Comets’ defense was stifling all game, creating 23 turnovers on the night. The defense was led by Annie Yeo, who forced 8 steals and created chaos for the Pirates. Parker Brown contributed 5 steals and Gabbie DelosSantos added 4 steals. Offensively the Comets had contributions from several players: Annie Yeo led the way with 13 points, Gabbie DelosSantos with 11, Makenzie Powell had 9 and Parker Brown chipped in 6! Our 8th grade battled until the final buzzer but came up short against a tough Napoleon team in their first loss of the season. After an uncharacteristically slow first half, the Comets turned up the intensity in the third quarter and carried momentum into the fourth. Friday night, the Cascades Conference had their wrestling championship tournament. As a team, Hanover-Horton finished 6th out of the 12 teams. Individually, Hanover-Horton had 4 placers out of the 14 weight classes. Senior captain Reed Matthews was the runner-up at heavyweight. Sophomores AJ Lusby at 120 lbs., Austyn Hocter at 215 lbs. and senior captain AJ Fielder at 132 lbs. were all conference champions! AJ Fielder made Hanover-Horton history, by being Hanover's first 4-time conference champion. The team starts the post season on Wednesday, with districts at home against Vandercook Lake.
