Our Lady Comets saw their season come to an end after a hard fought battle with Grass Lake losing 47-58. The ladies left all they had on the court. Maggie Soper led the Comets with 16 points, 4 rebounds and 1 steal. Halee Krage had 10 points, 3 rebounds and 3 steals. Aly Stroede had 9 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 steal.  The Comets finished their season with a 18-6 record.  We're very proud of you ladies! --Coach Lusk

Varsity Girls Win District Opener

The Lady Comets defeated East Jackson in their District opener 62-16.A huge congratulations to Molly Soper on breaking the school record for 3 pointers in a game with 8.  The previous record was 6.  Molly had a huge game with 26 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 1 block.Maggie Soper also had a big night with 17 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 4 steals.Halee Krage took care of business on the defensive side with 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals and 4 points. Maisey Toteff also chipped in with 6 points, 4 assists, 1 steal and 3 blocks.The girls will play on Wednesday at Napoleon High School against Grass Lake in the District Semifinals.  Come support your Comets! --Coach Lusk

Varsity Girls End Regular Season With HUGE Win at Concord

The Lady Comets broke the Concord Yellowjackets 20 game win streak by defeating them 48-37 on Saturday! Maggie Soper led the Comets in scoring with 19 points, adding 3 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 assists, and 3 blocked shots.  Molly Soper added 11 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals.  Maisey Toteff scored 8 points.  Lila Hamisfar took care of business on the defensive side with 7 steals.  The Comets will take on East Jackson Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the District opener at Napoleon. --Coach Lusk

Middle School Girls Finish Season with Sweep of Grass Lake

Our 7th and 8th grade teams finished out their seasons last night with wins over Grass Lake. Congratulations to both teams as they went 8-2 on the season.In 7th grade, our girls’ brought solid rotational and help-side defense and a strong press that came in clutch in a game that came down to the wire in a 27-26 win over the Warriors.Sydney Meade: 3 points and 2 stealsAnn Yeo: 4 points, 11 stealsParker Brown, 5 steals, 11 pointsHarlow Elbert: 6 points, 4 reboundsBrooklyn Cole: 6 reboundsMaceyn Gonzalez: 6 rebounds and 2 steals In 8th grade, our Lady Comets had to battle for their final game of their middle school careers. It was an up and down game through the first three quarters – first going up by 10 in the first 10 minutes of play, the going down six going into the half. Lady Comets Win Final Home Game vs Hudson

Tonight we celebrated our three seniors as they played their last game at Hanover Horton High School.  Maggie Soper came up big for the Comets with a double double scoring 17 points with 11 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 assists and 2 blocked shots.Aly Stroede also had a great game with 14 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. Molly Soper had 9 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.  These girls have all been four year varsity players for Hanover-Horton and will be greatly missed.JV also won 44-38Jordyn Tiffany led with 14 points and Maisey Toteff added 10 points. --Coach Lusk

Jackson United Hockey on to the Quarterfinals!

Congratulations to the Jackson United Hockey Team on their MHSAA Regional Championship Wednesday evening where they defeated Capital City 3-2.  Hanover-Horton has three players on the team, Brennan Davis, Nixon Jones and Brennan Koszegi.  The team will play next on Saturday in the state quarterfinals against Rockford.  Good luck!

Our 7th grade Lady Comets managed to pull off the win in a sloppy, turnover-heavy game against Homer, winning 27-19.• Parker Brown led the way with a Double Double: 10 points and 13 steals• Harlow Elbert chipped in 6 points and 5 rebounds• Brooklyn Cole had 8 rebounds and 2 steals• Maceyn Gonzalez added 5 rebounds and 2 steals. Our 8th grade lost a tough one to Homer 46-49 on the road Tuesday night.• Miley Cole – 18 points, 4 steals and 2 assists• Rylie Duncan – 13 rebounds, 4 steals and 2 points• Maddox Woolworth –  5 points, 3 steals and 3 rebounds• Juselle Smilowski – 6 points• Madison Denig – 6 points Our Middle School teams wrap up the season on Thursday at Grass Lake. Individual Wrestling MHSAA Regionals

Saturday, Sophomore Austyn Hocter, Junior Levi Bradley, and Senior Captains AJ Fielder and Reed Matthews wrestled at regionals where the top 4 move onto states.  All four wrestled tough competition.  Levi had 5 of the top 12 in his weight class.  Levi wrestled tough but went 0-2 and finishes his season in the top 32 in the state at the 157 weight class with a 27-20 record.  Reed was 1 of 2 of the top wrestlers in the state in his region.  He wrestled tough but fell short in the blood round of the tournament.  He went 1-2 in the tournament and ends his season in the top 24 in the state with a 40-16 season record.  Reed had a great career also with almost 200 matches under his belt, posting a 98-86 career record.  He also holds the school season record escapes with 40.  He has also received his varsity letter 4x, a 3x Academic All-American, a 2x Regional Qualifier, a 2x NWCA Leadership Award recipient.  AJ was one of 5 top wrestlers in th

Wrestlers Bow Out in Regionals Against Tough Hudson Squad

Last night your Comet wrestling team traveled to Perry for Team Regionals.  In the semi-finals they faced #1 Hudson.  They wrestled their best against a very tough team.  They lost 75-6, with the only win coming from Austyn Hocter.  The Comet wrestling team finishes the season as one of the top 32 teams in Division 4.  We are all very proud of this young team for their commitment and achievements.  Individually we are not done, as Senior Captains AJ Fielder, Reed Matthews, Junior Levi Bradley and Sophomore Austyn Hocter head to Whitmore Lake for Individual Regionals, where the top 4 head to Ford Field for Individual States.  Wrestling starts at 10:30.  Come out and support these wrestlers. --Coach Fielder

Our 7th grade Lady Comets got another win in the books with an 39-7 win against East Jackson.  - Parker Brown led the way with 14 points, 7 steals and 7 rebounds. - Annie Yeo contributed 10 points, 7 steals and 3 assists. - Brooklyn Cole chipped in 8 rebounds and 4 points. - Harlow Elbert had 7 boards and 5 points- Sydney Meade had 3 rebounds and 3 points.   Our 8th graders played great team ball with 12 assists and 30 rebounds in a 64-7 win against East Jackson.  - Rylie Duncan earned a TRIPLE DOUBLE with 14 points, 12 rebounds and 10 steals! - Miley Cole led in assists with six and dropped 22 points with three rebounds and three steals.- Jusselle Smilowski had 11 points with three reboundsMaddox Woolworth had 9 points, 6 steals and 2 rebounds- Erin Dunning snagged 8 rebounds and dropped 6 points. - Madison Denig and Parker Brown provided strong defense with Brown adding two beautiful assists and 2 steals and Denig with two b
