The boys cross country team won the Cascades Conference Championship outright on Wednesday narrowly edging out a tough Jonesville squad for first place. The team showed its depth with outstanding races by the entire team. Way to make Comet Nation proud!
Varsity Volleyball Champions at Spring Arbor University!
The varsity volleyball team won the championship on Saturday afternoon at Spring Arbor University! The team stayed hot with a victory in the finals over Western 25-11 and 25-18. Way to go ladies!

The student section at our football and volleyball games have been top-notch so far this school year! Our Comet pride shows in everything we do, and our teams are extremely appreciative of our student section! Come on out and join in the fun! GO COMETS!
Girls XC Finishes Second at Meckley's Invite
Maisey Toteff led the way with a 1st place finish in 20:42. She was followed by Brynlee Swihart, who placed 9th in 23:42, and Holly Zantop, who ran a solid 24:29. The Comet girls finished 2nd overall as a team.
Boys XC Team Wins Meckley's Invitational!
Chad Tyson set the tone with a new personal record of 16:23. Cooper Flick added a strong 17:06, while Wyatt Hassenzahl crossed in 17:56. The Comet boys earned 1st place as a team, capping off an excellent season opener.

7th Grade Basketball Improves to 2-0
The 7th grade boys basketball team improved to 2 and 0 on the season with an impressive 47-21 win at Napoleon last night. The Comets played mean defense and pushed the ball for several quick baskets. Great win against a tough Pirate squad. The boys travel Grass Lake on Monday before returning to HH for our first home game vs Michigan Center. See you there!

7th Grade Basketball Starts Season with a Victory at Jonesville
The HH 7th grade boys hoops team travelled to Jonesville last night and came away with an impressive 45-17 victory. The Comets played mean defense which lead to several fast break buckets. It was a nice start to our season and we hope to carry the momentum to Napoleon on Wednesday.

Varsity Football Wins First Playoff Game in School History!
The varsity football team continues to set history, achieving the first playoff win in school history, a 44-6 defeat of Union City. The Comets used an explosive offensive and suffocating defensive performance to shut down the Chargers.The offense scored five first half rushing touchdowns of 39 yards or longer. Lukas Nadell, Kolin Griffiths, and JJ Russ broke the game open on the ground, and Austyn Hocter finished the Chargers off with two rushing touchdowns himself. What doesn’t show in the stats showed up on film, with the offensive line dominating the point of attack and creating running lanes all night to the tune of 356 rushing yards.The Comets defense blanketed the Chargers offensive attack all game, allowing only 63 yards on the ground and 89 through the air. Up front Reed Matthews had six tackles, including a sack, and Brody Burt added seven stops and a tackle for loss. Varsity Cross Country Teams Wrap Up Season at M.I.S.
The cross-country team wrapped up their season at the State Meet at Michigan International Speedway. ONn the girls' side, Brynlee Swihart finished 110th.On the boys’ side, the team ran strong and placed 13th overall. Chad Tyson led the way with a 34th-place finish, followed by Cooper Flick in 88th, Tyler Harris in 112th, Wyatt Hassenzahl in 146th, Anderson Cook in 175th, Zach Hassenzahl in 198th, and Carson Beach in 212th.Congratulations to all of the Comet runners on an outstanding season! --Coach Toteff

JV Football Shows Grit to Earn Victory vs Leslie
The Hanover-Horton Comets staged an impressive comeback Monday night to defeat the Leslie Blackhawks, overcoming a 14-0 deficit to claim a hard-fought win.Leslie struck early, capitalizing on two first-half touchdowns to take control of the game. But just before halftime, Rylan Bean broke through with a determined touchdown run to put the Comets on the board and shift the momentum heading into the break.In the third quarter, Carl Maynard powered into the end zone to tie the game at 14-14, igniting the Hanover-Horton sideline. On the ensuing kickoff, Blake Cogan made a huge play by forcing a turnover, giving the Comets the ball right back. Quarterback Spencer Johnson led the charge, with a highlight-reel catch from Cole Ryckman keeping the drive alive. Cross Country has Fantastic Showing at Regionals
The Hanover-Horton cross country teams had an outstanding day at Regionals!On the girls’ side, Brynlee qualified for the state meet, placing 8th overall.On the boys’ side, Chad Tyson placed 4th, Cooper Flick 6th, Tyler Harris 17th, Wyatt Hassenzahl 18th, and Zach Hassenzahl 22nd, helping the team finish second by just one point and advance to the state finals as a team!Personal Records (PRs) were achieved by Bryn Biela, Holly Zantop, Jaila Stephens, Chad Tyson, Tyler Harris, and Wyatt Hassenzahl.Season Records (SRs) were earned by Cooper Flick and Zach Hassenzahl.Amazing job to all runners. Middle School Cross Country Ends the Season on a High Note
This past week the Hanover Horton Middle School Cross Country team finished off our season by competing at our Heritage Park Invite and the Zone 2 Regional meet. Both events had great competition and our teams did great! At our Heritage Park Invite, we had one medalist, Atlas Jakubas, finishing 5th in the boys race. In the girls race we had our top runners helping bring up some of the younger runners. This allowed Sydnee Meade, Holland McIntosh, Alison Dorian, and Dakota Curtis to set their personal bests. Axis Jakubas set his personal best too. With a quick turnaround, Saturday we competed at the Zone 2 regional at Hudson. The girls team finished 6th in the small school division. Ellie Swihart, 13th, Harper Blanton, 19th, and Lauren Bulgrein, 20th, received medals.
