Ava Smith collected three hits in four at bats, as Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets defeated Michigan Center Varsity 14-4 on Friday. Smith hit a solo home run to center field in the first inning, doubled in the second inning, and singled in the sixth inning.Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets scored eight runs in the third inning on the way to victory. High School Track Hosts Vandercook Lake and Manchester

The boys and girls track teams had their final regular season conference meet at home last night against Manchester and Vandercook Lake. The girls ended their regular season with a record of 4-4 and the boys, with their victories over these 2 teams, ended undefeated. Special shoutout to Maisey Toteff with her personal record in the 800m (2:27.66) earning her 10th place on our All-Time Hall of Fame. Golf Team Survives Cold, Rainy Day!

The varsity boys golf team hosted their conference event yesterday at Arbor Hills Golf Club. As they continue to battle back and forth with Colombia Central, they finished in a close second place just 3 strokes off the lead. Bristen Cekander lead the way with an impressive 38 on a cold and rainy day, followed by Ayden Boyk, Ian Knoblauch, and Spencer Johnson to round out the top 4. The boys are at Calderone today for the East Jackson Invite. --Coach Johnson

The girls track team had an incredible night, defeating both Manchester and Vandercook in a strong showing across the board!Top finishers included:Ally with a 2nd place finish in the 70mMaddox taking 2nd in the 200m and 1st in the 55 hurdlesOlivia earning 2nd in both the 100m and 400mSyndee placing 3rd in the 400mEllie racing to 1st in the 800m, with Holland adding a 3rd place finishHarper capturing 1st in the mile, followed by Lauren in 2ndGabbie dominating with 1st in the 2-mile and 2nd in high jumpEmery taking 1st in the 200 hurdles, with Elaina finishing 3rdHarlow throwing her way to 1st in shot put, while Mikayla placed 3rdAlexa earning 3rd in the high jumpGreat effort from the entire team!Last night the Hanover-Horton Middle School Boys Track team competed at our final conference meet of the season at Manchester. Varsity Softball Earns HUGE Split vs Tough Grass Lake

Game 1: Grass Lake 17 - Hanover-Horton 4Ryley Manning hit a two run home run and Ava Smith led Hanover-Horton with two hits and two stolen bases, but the Comets fell short to returning state champion Grass Lake. Manning's home run came in the fourth inning.  Amanda Ley struck out two from the circle. Game 2: Hanover-Horton 13 - Grass Lake 11After taking their lumps in game one, the Comets came out on top in game two with Ava Smith hitting a home run in the top of the sixth, and both Holly Zantop and Ryley Manning hitting back-to-back home runs in the top of the seventh to defeat Grass Lake.  The Comets tallied 15 hits in the game, led by Smith and Zantop with three a piece. Brooklyn Biela and Zantop drove in three runs each, while Kendall Bevier and Biela each collected multiple hits. Bryn Biela also had a huge two RBI single early in the game.  Amanda Ley got the win and struck out two batters from the circle.The Comets play next against Addison at home on Monday.&

Varsity Golf Wins at Grass Lake Jamboree

The boys golf team traveled to Calderone Golf Course yesterday to compete in their fourth jamboree hosted by Grass Lake. Experience lead the way as seniors Bristen Cekander, Josh Bolton, and Ian Knoblauch secured a first place finish with the help of junior Ayden Boyk. The Comets lead the Cascades Conference as they head into the final weeks of the season with an upcoming home event on Tuesday May 5th hosted at Arbor Hills.--Coach Johnson

Our girls competed on a rainy, cold night at Grass Lake. The girls’ 4×800 team—Emery, Holland, Lauren, and Gabbie—earned 3rd place. The shot put team of Elaina and Harlow also placed 3rd. Last night the Hanover-Horton Middle School Boys Track team competed at a very rainy Grass Lake Relays. There was not a team score for this event but the boys competed hard inspite of it all.In the field events:The pair of Marshall and Parker combined to win Pole Vault.Mault and Henry combined to finish 2nd in Shot Put.In the running events:The team of Curtis, Parker, Jones and Pogel won shuttle hurdles.Henry, Elbert, Toteff,  and Britton took the win in the 4x400m.Blair, Pogel, Hamisfar,  and Mault won the 4x100m.Finally to end the night in the pouring rain, Henry, Jakubas, Britton, and Mault took first in the Grass Lake Relay.Next stop is Manchester, where we will compete against Manchester and Vandercook Lake.--Coach Toteff and Coach Heath

Ava Smith hit two home runs and drove in seven as Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets defeated Jonesville Varsity Comets 20-12 on Monday. Smith homered in the first and third innings.Both offenses were strong at the plate as Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets collected 15 hits and Jonesville Varsity Comets eight in the high-scoring affair.Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Bryn Biela doubled, scoring one run, Amanda Ley homered to left field, scoring two runs, Ryley Manning drew a walk, scoring one run, Addison Horton induced Tori King to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, McKinzie Fox drew a walk, scoring one run, and Smith homered to left field, scoring three runs.Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets scored on a passed ball, Smith doubled down the left field line, and Brooklyn Biela was struck by a pitch, each scoring one run.Jonesville Vars

Your Hanover-Horton Track team competed against Leslie and Addison last night. Girls defeated Leslie, but fell short against Addison. The boys beat both teams in the double-dual - holding onto their undefeated title this conference season.Shoutout to JJ Russ for his personal record in the 100m, bumping him up to 3rd place in the All-Time Hall of Fame and to Ava Smith's debut in the Pole Vault, earning her 6th place in the Hall of Fame. With the 2025-2026 school year nearing its end, it's time to think about getting your MHSAA Sports Physicals scheduled.  Remember, all MHSAA Sports Physicals dated April 15, 2026 or after will be valid for the 2026-2027 school year.  If your MHSAA Sports Physical is dated on April 14, 2026 or before, it will NOT be valid for the 2026-2027 school year.  Attached, you'll find a list of dates from Henry Ford Heath offering $20 sports physicals this summer.
