The track team competed at the State Meet in Kent City on Saturday last week.The team started off strong with a multiple All-State athletes including:JJ Russ in the 100m (breaking a school record on the way - 10.91)Austyn Hocter in the 110m Hurdles4x100m Relay team of Grant Bulgrien, Rudy Lowry, Austyn Hocter, & JJ Russ4x800m Relay team of Brodey Bially, Cooper Flick, Wyatt Hassenzhal, & Chad TysonCongrats to them and our other state qualifiers - Brynlee Swihart, Maisey Toteff, Ava Smith, Tyler Harris Go Comets! --Track and Field Coaches

High School Track Team Looking Forward to the State Meet!

The boys and girls track team had a few of their athletes compete at the "Meet of Champs" at Jackson High last night - competing against the best in the area. Our medalists from last night include Anderson Cooke in the 3200m, Eli Jurasek in the Long Jump, Tyler Harris in the High Jump, and Maisey Toteff in the 1600m. Extra shoutout to Maisey with her personal best in the 1600m making her #7 in our All-Time Hall of Time. The Comets next and final meet is this Saturday at the State Meet!--Track and Field Coaches

Middle School Track Sends More to the Mega Meet!

Great job to the girls team at Regionals! The 4x800 team placed 2nd, punching their ticket to States!Gabbie placed 1st in high jump, while Harper placed 5th. Harlow also had an amazing day, placing 2nd in shot put and qualifying for States!Lauren earned 2nd place in long jump, Ellie placed 6th in the 800m run, and Emery placed 6th in the 200 hurdles.Great season to all of the girls and good luck at States to the 4x800 team and our shot putter!The Hanover Horton Middle School Boys Track and Field team competed at the MHSAA Zone 2 Regionals hosted at Concord. The team performed amazingly, winning the meet with a score of 110.5. Soccer Wins First District Game Since 2019!

The Hanover-Horton won its first district game in 6 years on Wednesday in dramatic fashion defeating a tough Bronson squad 2-1 in a shootout!  The score was tied 1-1 at the conclusion of regulation, and remained tied 1-1 through two 10 minute overtime periods.  After all of that, it came down to the most exciting type of ending in sports--the shootout!  Each team picked five girls to shoot at the other teams' keeper. Vivian Foote saved all 4 of the shots taken by the Vikings, while Trinity Creery, Kenadee Bugbee and Nora Lewis each made their shots count, helping the Comets to a BIG victory.  The team will travel to Schoolcraft next Tuesday for the district semifinals starting at 5:00.  Great job ladies! -Mr. V

The Comets played in the Jackson invitational today at Cascades in preparation for the regional tournament next week. A strong finish by all of the Comets! Bristen Cekander medaled in the top 10 with a 78, followed by Ayden Boyke with an 82, Spencer Johnson with an 84, Josh Bolton with an 88, and Ian Knoblauch with an 89. Boys Golf Wins Conference Tournament--Finishes Second in League!

The boys golf team won the conference championship tournament today at Ella Sharp park. Our very own Bristen Cekander tied the low round of the day with a 77. Followed by Ian Knoblauch 82, Ayden Boyk 84, Josh Bolton 86, Spencer Johnson 88, and Nixon Jones 90. Strong showing by all the comets today! All players recognized for either all conference and/ or honorable mention. Regionals set for Wednesday 5/27 at cascades. GO COMETS! --Coach Johnson

The boys and girls track team had their Conference Championship Meet yesterday in Jonesville. The boys and girls track teams competed in the Regional meet last Friday at Hillsdale. Some notable achievements were from Ava Smith placing his in 5th place in both the 100m and 200m in the H-H Hall of Fame, Austyn Hocter bettering his 2nd place Hall of Fame time in the 110m Hurdles and moving to 3rd in the 300m Hurdles, Cooper Flick - 7th place in the 3200m, Chad Tyson - 4th place in the 1600m, Rudy Lowry - 10th place in the 200m, JJ Russ - 2nd place in the 100m (only 0.01 seconds away from the school record), boys 4x100m including Grant Bulgrien, Rudy Lowry, Brodey Bially, JJ Russ - SCHOOL RECORD, boys 4x200m including Austyn Hocter, Rudy Lowry, Brodey Bially, JJ Russ - SCHOOL RECORD.Out of both teams after regionals, 13 different events qualified for the state meetHigh Jump - Tyler Harris110m Hurdles & 300m Hurdles - Austyn Hocter100m - JJ Russ1600m - Chad Tyson3200m - Cooper Flickboys 4x100m, 4x200m, 4x400m, 4x800m200m - Ava Smith800m - Maisey Toteff3200m - Brynlee SwihartThe

On Monday the Hanover-Horton Middle School Boys Track team competed at the Leslie Blackhawk Invitational. The boys finished 2nd out of 14 teams with a score of 86 points. In the field events:Mault finished 5th in Shot Put.Marshall took 2nd in Pole Vault.Henry was 3rd in High Jump.Zieman was 3rd in Long Jump. In running events:Hamisfar and Blair took 1st and 5th in the 70mHamisfar and Mault took 1st and 3rd in the 100mZeffery was 5th in the 200mHenry took 4th in the 400mToteff was 5th in the 800mJakubas finished 6th in the 1600mToteff was 6th in the 3200mPogel was 3rd in the 55m HurdlesPogel and Kemler took 4th and 6th in the 200m HurdlesBlair, Britton, Hamisfar, and Mault won the 4x100m It was a great meet with many great efforts.Pogel, Toteff, Hamisfar, Mault and the 4x100m team hit qualifying marks for the Megastar meet. The track team had back to back meets these past 2 school days. On Friday, the team competed at Bath HS against 10 other teams and had some amazing times, throws, and jumps. The girls ended with 42 points in 6th place and the boys were Meet Champions with 106 points.Last night was the Last Chance Meet @ Sand Creek where a select number of athletes competed to fight for their championship season.Between the two meets, some shoutouts are in order.Zach Hassenzahl's time in the 400m (51.14) bumped him to #3 in the H-H Hall of Fame.Cooper Flick - 10th place in the 3200m Hall of Fame (9:57.75)Maisey Toteff - 10th place in the 1600m (5:31.30) AND 6th place in the 800m (2:22.58)Rudy Lowry - 9th place in the 100m Hall of Fame (11.55)Tyler Harris - 4th place in the High Jump Hall of Fame (6' 4)JJ Russ had a personal record in the 100m - #2 on the Hall of Fame and punching himself a ticket for the State Meet (going 11.10)Boys 4x800m Relay Team - Brodey Bially, Cooper Flic

Ava Smith collected three hits in four at bats, as Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets defeated Michigan Center Varsity 14-4 on Friday. Smith hit a solo home run to center field in the first inning, doubled in the second inning, and singled in the sixth inning.Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets scored eight runs in the third inning on the way to victory.
