Halle Swihart Drives In 5 To Lead Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets Past Jonesville Varsity Comets

Halle Swihart drove in five runs on three hits to lead Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets past Jonesville Varsity Comets 10-0 on Monday. Swihart hit a home run to center field in the first scoring three, singled in the second scoring one, and doubled in the fifth scoring one.
Alexyn DuBois struck out 11 batters on the day. The starting pitcher also gave up two hits and zero runs over five innings while walking none.
Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Swihart homered to center field, scoring three runs, Maddy Sauber drew a walk, scoring one run, and Brooklyn Biela singled, scoring one run.
Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets extended their early lead with two runs in the bottom of the second thanks to RBI singles by Swihart and Holly Zantop.
Bryn Rusk took the loss for Jonesville Varsity Comets. The pitcher went two-thirds of an inning, allowing five runs on one hit, striking out none and walking six.
Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets piled up 10 hits in the game. Swihart and DuBois were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected three hits for Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets. Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets’s Alexyn DuBois Powers Through Jonesville Varsity Comets

Alexyn DuBois hit two home runs and drove in six as Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets defeated Jonesville Varsity Comets 19-5 on Monday. DuBois homered in the sixth and fourth innings.
Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets got on the board in the top of the first inning after DuBois doubled to center field, Halle Swihart singled to center field, and Amanda Ley hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.
Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Jonesville Varsity Comets committed an error, and DuBois singled down the right field line, each scoring one run.
Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Holly Zantop grounded out, and Brooklyn Biela singled to center field, each scoring one run.
Three more Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets runs crossed the plate in the fourth inning to extend the lead to 10-0. DuBois hit a solo home run to center field, an error scored one run, and a wild pitch scored one run.
Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets scored seven runs on five hits in the top of the sixth inning. Maddy Sauber drew a walk, scoring one run, Biela doubled, scoring one run, DuBois hit a grand slam to left field, and Ley singled, scoring one run.
Ley earned the win for Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets. The pitcher gave up seven hits and five runs (one earned) over six innings, striking out eight and walking one. Bryn Rusk took the loss for Jonesville Varsity Comets. The right-handed pitcher went two and one-third innings, surrendering seven runs (five earned) on five hits, striking out two and walking four.
Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets amassed 15 hits in the game. Swihart, Biela, and Zantop each collected multiple hits for Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets. Bryn Biela led Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating eight walks for the game. Ley stole two bases.
