Hanover-Horton traveled to Jonesville Wednesday night and came away with a hard-fought 2–2 draw. Kennedy Bugbee made 15 saves in goal, keeping the team in the game throughout. Hanover-Horton struck first when Carly Boyke scored her first career goal after she tipped in a corner from Aley Ketchum, who picked up the assist.
Jonesville responded with two goals from back-to-back penalty kicks after handball calls, taking a 2–1 lead. But late in the match, Trinity Creery cleared the ball to Morgan Meade, who found Lexy VanGelder on a wide run. VanGelder sent in a cross that connected with Sophie Schuette at the far post, tying the game at 2–2.
Hanover-Horton pushed for a winner in the closing minutes but settled for the draw. It was a complete team effort with contributions across the roster. The Comets return to action Friday at home against Columbia Central.
