Halle Swihart Drives In 4 To Lead Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets Past Belleville Wildcats

Halle Swihart drove in four runs on three hits to lead Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets past Belleville Wildcats 10-0 on Saturday. Swihart doubled in the second scoring three, doubled in the first scoring one, and doubled in the fifth scoring one.
Amanda Ley struck out 11 batters on the day. The pitcher also allowed one hit and zero runs over five innings while walking none.
Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Alexyn DuBois tripled down the right field line, Swihart doubled down the left field line, and Holly Zantop doubled down the right field line, each scoring one run.
A double by Swihart extended the Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets lead to 6-0 in the bottom of the second inning.
Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning when McKinzie Fox drew a walk, scoring one run, and DuBois singled, scoring two runs.
Dare took the loss for Belleville Wildcats. The starter went two and one-third innings, allowing nine runs on 10 hits, striking out three and walking two.
Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets amassed 13 hits in the game. Ryley Manning, Brooklyn Biela, and DuBois each collected multiple hits for Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets. Alexyn DuBois Leads Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets Past Lincoln Varsity Softball

Alexyn DuBois was dominant in the circle, as the righty rang up 12 strikeouts in Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets's 7-4 victory over Lincoln Varsity Softball on Saturday. DuBois surrendered eight hits and four runs over seven innings while walking none.
Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets were the first to get on the board in the first when Halle Swihart doubled, scoring one run.
A walk by Amanda Ley, a fielder's choice by Holly Zantop, and a walk by Tori King helped Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets extend their early lead in the third.
Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets added to their lead with two runs in the top of the seventh inning thanks to home runs by Swihart and Ley.
Savanna Kane took the loss for Lincoln Varsity Softball. The left-handed pitcher went two innings, giving up four runs (three earned) on one hit, striking out three and walking five.
Swihart drove the middle of the lineup, leading Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets with two runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-2 on the day. Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets had patience at the plate, tallying eight walks for the game. Swihart, King, DuBois, and Ley led the team with two free passes each. Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets ran wild on the base paths, collecting four stolen bases for the game.
Kane went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Lincoln Varsity Softball in hits. Alaina Grasley, Kane, Autumn Anderson, and Sheyla Urena-Jordan each drove in one run for Lincoln Varsity Softball.
