The Varsity football team kept rolling this past Friday night, winning a Cascades West battle against the Homer Trojans 63 to 0.

The scoring started early for the Comets, with a pair of 1st quarter rushing touchdowns from AJ Fielder and Luke Soper, who would both each finish with two rushing touchdowns for the game. 

The second quarter was all Comets as the defense caused multiple turnovers leading to great field position, defensive scores, and easy offensive drives. Austyn Hocter had two rushing touchdowns and an interception return touchdown all in the 2nd quarter, Lukas Nadell added a score on the ground, and Luke Soper found JJ Russ for an 8-yard receiving touchdown that gave the Comets a 56 to 0 halftime lead and a running clock to secure the homecoming victory.

Dominant on all sides of the ball, the Comets racked up over 300 yards of total offense while holding Homer to only 75 total yards and caused 4 interceptions, while also being a perfect 9 for 9 on extra points and kicking six touchbacks in the game.

The Varsity football team will look to keep the momentum rolling this Friday, at home, as they take on the Vandercook Lake Jayhawks in another important Cascades West matchup.
