Friday night the boys varsity wrestlers had their conference championships.  Senior David Fielder beat a state ranked wrestler from Addison to take 1st.  This is his 3rd consecutive conference title.  Sophomore AJ Fielder beat a state ranked kid from Jonesville to win his 2nd consecutive conference title.  Both champions earned 24 points for the team.  Junior Gavin Berkeypile took on the #2 ranked kid in the state from Manchester, in the finals.  He came up short, but still placed 2nd and earned 20 points for the team.  Sophomore Reed Matthews fought his way back through the bracket from an early loss to take 4th and earn the team 11 points.  Freshmen Levi Bradley and Grayden Teller also earned the team points to help the team to a 6th place team finish.

The girls traveled to Toledo, OH for a multi state tournament.  Junior Drew Swihart went 3-0 and took 1st in a televised finals match on Buckeye Cable's Sports network.

This week starts the post season.  Wednesday the Comet Wrestlers travel to Vandercook Lake for Team Districts, where they will take on Vandercook in the first round.  The winner takes on Addison later that night.  Wrestling starts at 5:30pm.  Saturday the boys will travel to Dansville for Individual Districts.  Wrestling starts at 9am.  Top 4 wrestlers, from each weight class, will move on to regionals.  Come out and cheer on your wrestlers, as they start their journey towards the State Tournaments.
