The 7th grade volleyball team opened their season with a 2nd place finish at the Hanover-Horton Middle School Invitational. Before reaching the finals, the team defeated Michigan Center 21-15, 21-10, 21-12, East Jackson 21-10, 21-9, 21-12, and Grass Lake 21-9, 21-16. The Comets eventually lost to a tough serving Napoleon team 23-22, 9-21, 5-15.
The 8th grade girls opened their season with a first place finish at their tournament this weekend. They were undefeated in pool play and easily won the semi final game in straight sets against Columbia Central before defeating Grass Lake in a dramatic 3 set match.
