The Middle School Boys' Track Team competed at the Napoleon Invite tonight. We placed 2nd out of 12 teams, losing only to Jonesville. It was a great meet with many great efforts.
For the Field events, Glover placed 4th in Shot Put, Harris and Fedorow finished 3rd and 5th in High Jump, and Lowry and Jurasek finished 2nd and 4th in Long Jump.
For the running events, the 4x800m relay was won by the team of Marshall, Herendeen, Beach, and Hassenzahl. In the 55m Hurdles Hocter and Pond went 1st and 2nd. Fedorow finished 5th in the 100m. The team of Lowry, Fedorow, Pond and Hocter took 2nd in the 4x200m Relay. Marshall took 6th in the 1600m and the team of Johnson, Dubois, Keeler and Griffis took 4th in the 4x100m Relay. Cottrell took 8th in the 400m and Harris and Hassenzahl took 3rd and 4th in the 800m. Hocter took 1st in the 200m Hurdles followed by Lowry taking 1st in the 200m. Marshall and Hassenzahl took 3rd and 5th in the 3200m. The night was finished by the team of Cook, Cottrell, Swihart and Beach with a 3rd place finish in the 4x400m Relay.
Overall it was a great meet and the team did great. We are at Concord for an invitational next Monday.
It was a phenomenal night of running and field events for the Middle School Girls' Track team at Napoleon. The girls clinched 2nd place out of 12 teams that attended the invitational. Some of the Highlights of the night were Bella Crabtree who finished 2nd in the Shot Put, Ava Smith who finished 2nd in the Pole Vault and 3rd in the High Jump and Taylor Dick who took 5th, and Brynn Miller who took 6th. The 4x800 consisting of Ellie Swihart, Collins Deglee, Caryl Boyk, and Maisey Toteff took 1st in a fight to the finish resulting in a huge PR for the relay. Braelynn took 4th and Taylor took 5th in the 55 m Hurdles. The 4 x200 m relay team of Taylor, Georgia, Lilah, and Braelynn finished 4th. The milers of Maisey Toteff and Caryl Boyk took 1st and 2nd respectively. Ellie Swihart took 2nd in the 800 m, Braelynn Miller took 4th in the 200 m hurdles, and Ava Smith took first in the 200 m dash and got a PR. Maisey took 1st in the 2-mile, dropping her best time by a whole minute (13:30 min ). We finished the night with the 4x400 getting 4th and that relay was run by Boyk, Fox, DeGlee , and Swihart. A fantastic meet for all of the Lady Comets. The next meet is Monday, May 13th at Concord, it should be another great night of Pr’s and Metals.
