The Lady Comets Middle School Track team had an impressive performance at the Concord meet, winning the Regional Championship trophy. They excelled in various events, starting with the Pole vault where Ava Smith secured 1st and Mckenzie Fox 2nd place. Ava achieved a personal record (PR) with a height of 7'6". Bella also had a PR in shot put, throwing a distance of 33'4" and placing 3rd. Taylor Dick performed well in the long jump, securing 3rd place with a jump of 13'3". The Lady Comets dominated the running events, with notable performances in the relays and individual races. The 4x800 relay team of Ellie Swihart, Collins DeGlee, Carly Boyk, and Maisey Toteff came in 2nd place at 11:12.07. Braelynn Miller and Taylor Dick placed 1st and 3rd respectively in the 55m hurdles. The 4x200m relay of Taylor Dick, Jaila Stephens, Georgia Addleman, and Ava Smith took 1st place, achieving a PR with a time of 1:58.75. Maisey Toteff had an outstanding performance in the Mile, securing 2nd place with a time of 5:50.74, while Carly Boyk placed 4th. Maisey had an outstanding kick and won 1st place in the 800m race with a time of 2:45.66. Braelynn achieved 1st place in the 200m hurdles with a PR of 33.57, and Ava Smith secured 1st place in the 200m dash with a PR of 28.18. Ellie Swihart performed exceptionally well in the 2-mile race, winning 1st place with a PR time of 13:05.23. The 4x400 relay team, consisting of Carly Boyk, Ellie Swihart, Collins Deglee, and Mckinzie Fox, placed 2nd and achieved a PR with a time of 4:53.53. Last night the Lady Comets came home with many PR’s, Metals and the BIG Championship trophy. Great Job Lady Comets. The next meet is the Mega Star on June 5^th at Shephard High School. The Middle School Boys' Track team won the MHSAA Middle School Regional meet tonight. They scored 156 points beating Blissfield's 108 points.
