The Lady Comets had their season opener tournament at the Bulldog Varsity Volleyball Invitational this past weekend. The team finished 3rd out of 12 in pool play defeating New Boston: 25-15 and 25-21, Detroit Edison: 25-8 and 25-3 and splitting with Chelsea: 16-25 and 25-23. The girls came with passion and grit this weekend and fought for every ball. The Lady Comets fell to Port Huron (25-14, 24-26, and 12-15) in bracket play finishing 5th.
For the day, Maddy Sauber went 39 for 42 at the service line with 5 aces. Mollie Barber and Natalee Krage also contributed 7 aces a piece. Natalee Krage led with 59 assists for the day. Maddy Sauber led with 33 digs and Natalee Krage with 18 and Hadlie Barber with 17. Chelsea Russ led with 28 kills for the day, Hadlie Barber contributed 17 and Morgan Kuhl had 16. Morgan Kuhl led with 9 blocks and Krage followed with 4.
