Hanover Horton hosted the Karen Abbott Tournament on Saturday, October 7th. The Lady Comets placed 5th out of 12 teams heading into bracket play. The Lady Comets faced Camden-Frontier (25-13, 25-13), Northwest (19-25, 25-20), and Morenci (25-17, 18-25) in pool play. Hanover Horton defeated Battle Creek St. Philip in the quarterfinals (25-16, 25-19). The Lady Comets battled hard against Addison in the Semi-finals and fell short (25-12, 21-25, 10-15). The Lady Comets had a great day. Chelsea Russ led the Comets with 42 kills for the day and contributed 3 blocks. Hadlie Barber went 37 for 40 at the service line with 5 aces and 45 digs. Brynn deGlee contributed 18 kills and Morgan Kuhl had 16 kills and 9 blocks. Natalee Krage led the Comets at the service line going 46 for 48 with 8 aces and led with 88 assists and had 6 blocks and 21 digs.
