The JV Comets played in the Spring Arbor University Invitational over the weekend. After a slow start in pool play dropping the first set to Columbia Central (6-25) the girls fought back losing the second set (22-25). They faced East Jackson next and cruised to a (25-7) (25-8) victory. Their final game of pool play was a BATTLE against a tough Lumen Christi team where the comets over came a 7 point deficit to win (25-23) (25-23) which put the girls at 4-2 after pool play. Only the top six teams made it out of pool to the gold bracket and the Comets made the cut! They faced a tough #1 seed Western team in the Quarterfinals and lady comets battled but came up just short losing (19-25) (18-25) The girls  played some great scrappy volleyball being an undersized team. I could not be more proud of their fight over the weekend. 

The Lady Comets were led defensively by Halee Krage’s 49 Digs followed by Izzy Yeo-Lindsay with 17 Renee Rodriguez 15 Chloe Akers 14

Aleah May and Brynn Miller did a great job running our offense with 32 and 24 assists respectively. 

The offense was led by Carly Boyk with 25 kills Abbi Wentworth with 16 and Ava Smith with 16.

It was a great team effort and a great weekend of volleyball for the JV Comets. We travel to Vandercook Lake for our next Conference Tri meet on Thursday.
