The JV Comets hosted their home tournament on Saturday. The lady comets started off very strong in pool play going undefeated beating Concord 25-16 25-14 then beating Hudson 25-18 25-17 and finally holding off Coldwater 25-23 25-21. 

The Comets headed to the gold bracket where they once again faced Coldwater who put up a tough fight but ultimately the girls worked together and pulled out the Quarterfinal win 25-21 25-23. The Lady Comets then faced a tough Western team where they fell just short in the semifinal losing 25-18 25-21. 

The Comets were lead defensively by Halee Krage who also passed incredibly consistently on serve receive and had some great rally saving digs. Izzy Yeo, Brooklyn Biela, and Chloe Akers held their own defensively and really contributed to the comets offensive and defensive success keeping the comets in system. 

Offensively the Comets were led in kills by Renee Rodriguez, Carly Boyk, Abbi Wentworth and Ava Smith and assisted by great sets from Alleah May and Brynn Miller.  Carly Boyk and Ava Smith also chipped in a couple BIG blocks! 

The girls all served tough consistently, played with tons of energy, and were a bunch of fun to watch. Overall it was a great day of volleyball for the JV Comets!
